What customers say

Quarry Walk Park, set on Coppice Lane at Freehay near Alton, offers lodges, holiday pods and self-catering accommodation across a wooded site. Guests repeatedly praise the setting, describing the woodland surroundings, communal fire pits and quiet, secluded feel of individual lodges and pods. Hot tubs are mentioned frequently as a highlight, with several visitors noting they were checked daily by staff and did not carry an overpowering smell of chemicals. Family stays in the Bluebell and Daisy pods are described as spacious and well equipped, with built-in speakers and outdoor cooking facilities adding to the experience, while adults-only Robin lodges are noted for their peaceful atmosphere. Staff are commonly described as helpful and communication around check-in is said to run smoothly. A few stays have involved minor issues, including maintenance problems on arrival that were resolved within a day, a hot tub capacity limit that caused confusion, and on one occasion cleanliness concerns including cobwebs and bedding that appeared not to have been changed. The on-site shop has limited stock, though a supermarket is a short drive away. Location near Alton Towers and local hiking routes is mentioned as a convenient draw for visitors staying at the park.

We stayed for two nights at Quarry Walk in Staffordshire for my wife’s birthday. It was a lovely break peaceful quiet and surrounded by beautiful woodland. We really enjoyed walking through the woods and taking in the nature around us. A great place for a relaxing getaway.

We absolutely loved our stay! We visited over the Father's Day weekend with our 7- and 5-year-old and stayed in the Daisy Plus Pod. It was absolutely fantastic! Everything was thoughtfully designed, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed having a BBQ outside, and the fire pit was a wonderful touch that made the evenings even more special. Our kids had the best time and have been asking ever since when they can go back! We've already recommended it to all of our friends and family because we genuinely had such a great experience. Thank you for a wonderful stay—we can't wait to come back again soon!

An excellent spot in the woods, made even better by the communal firepits. I booked as a Father's Day gift for my husband and it didn't disappoint. We're a family of 4 and stayed in the Bluebell Plus Pod, it was very spacious and would easily suit larger families. The facilities were great, although the fridge is quite small, so don't buy too much food. The built-in Bluetooth speakers were a nice touch and the bathroom had a powerful shower. For a more secluded feel, I'd recommend Pod 10, as it overlooks the woods. Bring lanterns, the outdoor light is motion-sensor and doesn't stay on for long. We bought a campfire pack (£12.50) with logs, kindling, fire starters, matches and marshmallows, enough to cook and toast treats later. The park was perfect for our daughters (11 & 8). Next time we'll try a lodge/cabin, as they look amazing. The shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. Just be aware the access road is single track with minimal passing places. We'll definitely be returning!!!

Perfect off the grid vibes without compromising on comfort. Super quiet site, private lodges with all necessary amenities - we basically only had to bring food! Tucked away in the forest with beautiful nature walks nearby and only 10 mins drive from Alton Towers. Highly recommend, have been twice so far and hoping to try a winter break next time, thank you!

Lovely, relaxing place. Spacious, clean and comfy. Lovely huge hot tub which we've all enjoyed. They check daily on it. All very private. Wi-Fi has worked fine for us when we've needed it. Would definitely return Stayed in Badger Lodges.

Myself and my partner had the most amazing time. We arrived on Friday for the bank holiday weekend. We stayed in Robin cabin 4 which was immaculate and based on a secluded area of the park. The shop on sight did not have too much to offer however there is a supermarket just under a 10 minute drive away. We will 100% visit again, this time with our children!
