And as soon as I did a Google Search and found Uhut operation is just right in Edinburgh. I managed to make the first visit to Ian’s Uhut to actually visualise what a uhut looks like. It’s no ordinary shed for the garden. It’s spacious, and the build is creative and modular, especially with the polycarbonate roof, which lets full daylight shine into the shed. It can serve as a workspace and an additional storage base, depending on your creativity. Ian's Uhut website has a built-in 3D tool for visualising what an Uhut looks like in your garden, with a full 3D scan available in a specific phone app. So, it’s really helpful for us to gauge how much space it will take up if we put a hut in our back garden. On the Uhut construction day, even my 10-year-old boy and 6-year-old daughter find it fascinating, and it’s safe for children to get involved in assisting with the build. Ian has so much patience with kids, explaining how an Uhut is constructed piece by piece throughout the entire build. Even with some distractions from the kids, Ian still managed to finish the build in just 4 hours for the 8810 model with some add-on features. Uhut is definitely a go-to shed for many who want a unique, spacious and full of natural daylight shed.

We absolutely love the design of these sheds and Ian was so helpful and lovely to work with. It looks great, is really well designed for storage, and I can see us using it in different ways as our family grows up. The extra light means it remains bright inside all the time the sun is up, and can be used for seedlings and plants. There's loads of space for storage, even with four bikes on the rack and a roof box in the skylight storage. Absolutely love it.
We had our UHUT completed by Ian yesterday, and my husband and I are absolutely delighted with our new hut. That phrase barely does justice to how pleased we are. Ian has been totally professional in every regard. He is also one of the nicest and most obliging people I have met, both professionally and personally. From the moment we placed the order, nothing was too much bother for Ian. After surveying the location, he even dismantled our old hut for us, saving us a great deal of hassle. The materials Ian used are by far the best quality we have seen and far exceed anything else we looked at. He built the hut entirely on his own, and the finish—both inside and out—is nothing short of amazing. U Hut is my #RHS2025 best buy, indeed its the best buy from any of the Royal Highland Show events I've ever attended. The UHut is beautifully engineered using quality materials and design. Being able to have a bespoke version with my antique windows has made me even happier and satisfied with the product.
