Lovely quiet, secluded spot right on a little lake with lots of birds and local wildlife. Only 10 min drive from York city centre with local shops and takeaways close by - ideal city break destination. The cabin was lovely with a nice big comfy recliner sofa with a well thought out layout internally the patio doors from the master bedroom opening directly onto the hottub deck - brilliant! Very clean and well kept outside too with lots of pretty flowers and hedges to improve privacy. Only 2 slight criticisms loosing a 5 star review is the front door glass should be frosted (as right next to the bathroom, can leave night-time trips a bit exposed if you're not careful. The bathroom also has the same issue but has blinds fitted. An easy fix with some adhesive film perhaps. The other minor gripe is the master bed only being a double and not particularly comfortable - although I am over 6ft - a king size bed would be the cherry on top of an otherwise thoroughly enjoyable stay. We cant wait to come back!
Wow! Absolutely outstanding cabins hot tubs sauna absolutely beautiful. Spotless cabins spotless grounds well equipped with utensils and milk washing up liquid loo rolls just excellent all round . Not so easy to find as on an industrial estate however soon as you enter the complex you quickly forget it’s an industrial estate! Close to York Filey and Scarborough a hour away so fantastic. Private fishing lake in s amazing outstanding staff absolutely worth the money wow!
Just spend a week here lodge site is quite and peaceful. Hot tub and sauna are both relaxing and if ur into fishing (I'm not) you can sit on the grass outside your cabin and do that. There's a nice pub (The Derwent Arms) with great food about a 10/15 min walk from the site and if you want to go into York there's a frequent bus service with a bus stop less than a 5min walk away. So a grat place to either for relaxing or sightseeing or enjoying the nightlife in York
Just left after a 4 night stay in Lodge 2 for Feb half term. We had an absolutely amazing time, cabin was lovely and the hot tub and sauna were a favourite and used everyday. We are already planning our next trip!
Had an excellent stay. Our lodge was very clean, beautifully presented and well equipped, couldn't fault a thing. We thoroughly enjoyed the private sauna built into the bathroom and hot tub built into the private raised decking. Even on chilly March/April days and nights the lodge stays warm and inviting. Thank you for a lovely few nights.
Such beautiful, clean & well looked after lodges! Having previously visited with friends in December 23 I had to bring my other friends in December 24 to experience the lovely lodges. A great time of year to get away for a hot tub break & to see York at Christmas. Both times the lodge was spotless & no problems at all with the facilities. Hot tub is beautiful & a great size! The lodge is so warm & cosy with enough stuff to cook food in the kitchen. Plenty of fridge/freezer space. A place I will continue to stay when wanting to come for a girls trip to York!
Just had a great 4 night stay here with my bf. The place was beautiful and spotless, already stocked up with essentials such as coffee, sugar, tea, milk, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, etc etc and they also included a first aid kit. Plenty of towels, sauna heated up well, hot tub was really good, no faults apart from it took a while to heat up on the first night (as expected from email) Really convenient location, park and ride into York only 3 min drive away, with a local Sainsbury's 2 min drive away and other nearby takeaways that were able to deliver. I know it may be early for some, but for us, this was a early Christmas holiday as we both work over Christmas so putting some decorations up would've been a nice touch, however, I did see a guy who works around the lodges putting up christmas lights so I’m guessing we were just that bit too early.
