The Wood House Company Garden Rooms

We were looking for a garden room for a while and we found The Wood House Company on google and sent an enquiry. We did this with several companies and got a few calls. When Fiona called me I knew they were different as she was clearly not just a sales person but someone who understood the process of building and designing rooms and could offer advice on ground suitability etc. This was impressive and we decided to pay them a visit to look at the standard of the build. The room in the show area was superb and Fiona answered all our questions. We then got a site visit to check for local conditions and advise on placement, sizing and check for the ground screw sizes. Again this provided much needed reassurance. The design was bespoke to what we asked for. We went through a couple of iterations and were happy that all of our requirements were considered - as well as some late changes we added during the build itself. The build process itself was done over a few weeks before Xmas - the guys worked through rain, hail and awful muddy conditions to get it done. A true testament to them as I have seen many workmen not turn up in such conditions. It took about 6 weeks in total but this included sometime over Christmas when everyone was having a much needed break. They accommodated things like rerouting water pipes and a sloped terrain with ease. The ground screw design allows you to build on uneven terrain. Andy and Shaun were great, turned up every day, were easy to get on with, answered all our questions and worked hard. The overall room we have ended up with is exactly what we wanted, better in some ways due to the ability to customise it such as positions of sockets, lighting, extra supports for shelving, tv brackets and wiring in things like wireless routers for us. We even added an extra window about half way through which was no trouble for them. A great company, making quality garden rooms, local honest people who know their stuff and look after you. Highly recommend.

Although we didn't complete a build with Fiona - we ended up taking the opportunity to move house for move space - we thoroughly recommend The Wood House Company for their garden room services and, had we stayed in our previous home, we would certainly have proceeded with Fiona and her team. Her design approach is striking, transparent, easy to understand, sustainably considerate, and incredibly refreshing - a stand out versus anyone we've dealt with before when it comes to doing works on your home. We felt in very capable hands with Fiona, and were excited about the beautiful space she could have created for us. We definitely recommend The Wood House Company.

What can I say about Fiona and the team! From day one they have been extremely thoughtful, organised and meticulous in executing the projects as per our wishes, or perhaps dreams. They left no stone unturned to meet our expectations. They have completed not one but three projects- building a garden room, converting a garage to a gym and building a porch that has transformed our house in every shape. The Wood House Company constructed a Garden room extension to my home around six years ago. The approach to project planning was excellent and the team were very helpful and professional at every stage of the project. We were referred to Fiona by our friends who had used her. We visited her offices and Fiona also did a home visit. We were hugely impressed with Fiona and her business from start to finish. Whilst we ended up not going ahead with the project (due to changes in living arrangements at our end, rather than anything to do with the company), we can still highly recommend her. Our friends bought a large outhouse, complete with a bathroom - and they say it still looks the same as the day it was built - 3 years later. A fantastic accolade. Whilst The Woodhouse Company is not the cheapest on the market, if you are looking for a building that will last - they are well worth considering.
