What customers say

In Hollington, on the single-track lanes near Quarry Bank, The Raddle Inn draws diners in for its country pub food. Several reviews regularly refer to generous portions and dishes such as steak pie and chips, with the pie in particular singled out for using locally sourced beef. Friendly and attentive table service comes up often, with staff including Evie named for looking after visitors well during a breakfast stop. Guests note the traditional pub atmosphere, with an open fireplace inside, outdoor seating in a field opposite, and views across the surrounding countryside making it a popular stop for those staying nearby, including visitors from Alton Towers hotels. Value for money is mentioned alongside quick service even at busy weekend sittings, and the call-button system on tables for assistance is noted as a practical touch. One visitor found the coffee underwhelming, and a separate account described a dry farmer's lunch served without dressing alongside slower clearing of dirty plates, though this stands apart from the generally positive service reports. Booking ahead is advised, particularly for weekend dining, given the limited car park. The pub is open daily from 9am until 11pm, making it accessible for both lunch and evening meals throughout the week.

We had a family dinner here....twice. Great food with generous portions. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Nice location. The bouncy castle and slide in the garden kept our grandson happy.

Single track lanes lead up to this charming country pub. Small car park. Best to book ahead (online) if you intend to dine (esp at weekends). Excellent delicious classic food menu, some specials. Excellent friendly table service (call button on each table if you'd like assistance). Lousy coffee. Lovely fire place inside. Seating inside and out. Some cosy feature bubble tables outside. Picnic bench seating in field opposite. Will definitely be back. Updated @ July 2026: Nothing has changed. Delicious pub fayre, cooked well, fairly priced, great service. Fast becoming a favourite pub to meet family who live roughly half way between Derby and Stoke.

Really limited vegan options, had to resort to the old chips and salad from the 80s! My friends weren't keen on their meals either. However, that said - nice beer, lovely pub & garden which we sat in with the dogs so if you're just looking for a pint after a dog walk this is a nice choice.

We went for tea and it was fabulous. Food was delicious and the service was top notch. I would definitely visit again. Haven't stayed in the rooms so can't comment on them.

Not impressed Steak Pies with red cabbage and thick cut carrots not ideal. Farmers lunch over the top with salad and no dressing very dry meal. Service not good dirty plates on the table for a long while after finishing and then had to ask one of the many staff to take our dessert order

We visited the Raddle for a mid week meal in the evening. Traditional pub, traditional pub food menu. Steak pie and chips is a hearty meal for sure! I remember coming here many years ago, it's not changed much, however the food and hospitality is very good.
