Left with half a building and had to find another company to finish it after 6 months of waiting! I'd avoid this place like the plague. The new owners committed to finishing my building and have ghosted everyone one of their customers. I've had my building finished off by the lovely people at the Timber Rooms who could not have done enough for me considering the desperate situation I was in! I had a building with no roof and no windows for 6 months despite paying in full. It cost me an additional 5,000 to have it sorted and if I could go back in time and pick a different company to work with I would! Don't risk your money!
BUYER BEWARE - Brown's Timber Buildings may have had a good reputation in the past however, this is no longer the case. Dealing with this company has been a truly dreadful experience. They took my order before Christmas and they took over £27K of my money (full payment in January) even offering a 20 Year Guarantee as a sweetener. The owner of the business would or should have known full well the order could not be completed. I also became aware of that Brown's were not paying suppliers or contractors. I have now been left with a sub-standard partially built garden building and I am aware of at least three other customers who are in a similar situation. We have been seeking answers from Brown's but received no response and through our research on Companies House we noted that due to their financial challenges they were in a voluntary arrangement since November 2025 (we should have been advised of this prior to making any agreement). Subsequently Browns approached liquidators in February and although I am advised a solution has been found which avoids liquidation I have still had no communication from them. AVOID dealing with this company as they have no integrity whatsoever and if this review saves someone else from losing money along with a very stressful situation, then this review will have served it's purpose.
Amazing company from the first port of contact. Great customer service, products and knowlege. Gave me a few options and honest opinions on what i could get for my budget. Will highly recomend and will be using them again.
The quality of the work was great and a lovely team of workmen came to site. Our sauna as worked out really well and a great addition to the house for a fun filled family Christmas
We are delighted with our garden room. The young joiners (Ben and Joe) are wonderful, they worked so hard in the heat of the summer and got the job done within a week. They were polite, tidy, hard working and talented woodworkers. The concrete man (Danny) was brilliant too, conscientious and really wanted us to be happy with his work. The only reason I dropped a star is because the electrician arrived late and had to complete the job the following week. That was fine for us but we've ended up with a light that doesn't have a switch and keeps turning on and off. Browns did get him to fix it but he didn't really resolve the issue. We will sort it ourselves. Otherwise I would recommend Browns, Chris tries his hardest for customers and does a great job and the finished product is beautiful.
We are really pleased with the building that Brown's Timber put up for us on our Community Growing project in Oldham. It is a clean, dry and warm space for our volunteers to take a break.
Amazing company. From first contact to sign off on a build they were true professionals. Kept me updated, had a wealth of options and designs for a build and could not do enough to help me get the right build for my garden space. The outcome, a gorgeous building that is safe, warm, secure, and a pleasure to be in, and looks amazing. Full support throughout, all the people who got the build done in 4 days were the top of their profession, clean and accommodating and did a great job. Could not recommend them enough. Sat completing this from my warm garden office studio and could not be more happy with what I paid, and what the finished product looks and feels like. Give them a try you will not be disappointed.
