D Gooch Sheds & Fencing (Howards)

D Gooch Sheds & Fencing was founded in 1985 and operates across Norwich and Norfolk. Darren Gooch works alongside his partner, Abbie, and the company is partnered with Trex decking. Darren Gooch formed Beams and Braces, a company specialising in bespoke joinery, timber frames and composite decking.

The team includes skilled craftsmen with experience in design, carpentry, joinery and landscaping. The company's main services are sheds, summerhouses, fencing and bespoke timber building projects. It offers bespoke timber building projects including play-sheds, tool stores, garages, gazebos, dog kennels and log stores, and undertakes fencing and decking installations.

On Plumstead Road East in Norwich, this manufacturer has built a solid local reputation for sheds, summerhouses and fencing. Reviews regularly refer to the sturdy, high-quality construction of the timber buildings, with finish and materials described as far superior to flimsy garden-centre alternatives. Several accounts describe a smooth process from initial sales conversation through to groundworks, with old structures cleared away and new bases laid before installation, and completed summerhouses and sheds erected promptly and on schedule.

The hardworking fitting teams are mentioned more than once, along with a willingness to sort out any minor misunderstanding over specification by picking up the phone and resolving it directly. Fencing work, including jobs completed despite difficult weather or wasps on site, is also praised for quality and speed.

One customer needed sleepers delivered the same day and had them within hours of ordering. Alongside the shed and fencing side of the business, the yard includes a small nursery selling plants, useful for wider garden projects. A point raised more than once concerns slower follow-up on quotes and measurements for larger installation jobs. The business operates from Plumstead Road East, with Saturday morning opening until 1pm for those wanting to visit in person.
